Our response to the latest boycott of Amy’s products:

In recent days, misguided social media posts have sparked some to boycott Amy’s products. We urge everyone to get the facts.

First, “our employees” are not calling for this – and, in fact, would be hurt by this if people stop buying the products they make.

Second, here are the facts.

  • “Unsafe worker conditions” – False. Our Santa Rosa facility has a safety record that is two times better than industry averages.
  • “Union busting” – False. We respect our employees’ rights and freedoms regarding unionization.
  • “Denial of bathroom breaks” –  False. Employees receive scheduled breaks throughout the day and can ask a breaker or line lead to fill in anytime they need to use the restroom outside of their scheduled breaks.
  • “Not providing access to drinking water” – False. There are 16 water stations located throughout our Santa Rosa facility.

We always take any allegation regarding employee safety seriously. We have worked diligently to research and ensure that our working conditions are aligned with our values, policies and practices and are in full compliance with all regulations.

Social Commitments

Amy’s Kitchens has earned B-Corp certification, which is awarded to companies that exemplify the highest standards of social and environmental performance and underscores our longtime commitment to doing well by doing good.

B-Corp certification is awarded to businesses that use profits and growth as a means to a greater end: Positive impact for their employees, communities, and the environment. The B- Corp community works toward reducing inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities and the creation of more high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose.

When Andy and Rachel founded Amy’s more than three decades ago, they committed to making quality food with sustainable, organic and vegetarian ingredients. This was not a marketing or sales strategy; it was what felt like the right thing to do. Over the past 34 years, we’ve learned that choosing to do what’s right for people and our planet – even when it’s not the easiest option – is what leads to success in business and in the positive impact we can make.

“I am most proud of my growth at Amy’s. I started in the Kitchen as a prep. Fred senior took me under his wing, and now I am in R&D. Soon we are going to introduce the Roasted Poblano Enchilada: that’s my recipe.”

Ramiro Dominquez, Research & Development (R&D), 11 years at Amy’s (standing on the right)

Our people are the foundation that makes our success possible. From our kitchens to our offices, Amy’s is made up of caring, curious and passionate individuals who are deeply committed to making a difference for our consumers, for our planet and for each other.
